Did you know that your cleanser forms an important part of your skincare routine? It can make or break your skincare routine. Let's look at some topics around skin cleansing and its importance.
Cleansing helps your products and treatments work better, because it removes impurities from your skin, may have actives that can help you achieve your skin goals. The right cleanser for your skin helps to maintain the moisture levels in your skin, which in turn assists in a healthy skin barrier.
Finally we cleanse to remove excessive oil from the day off, of our skin. How does this work? To help protect itself from environmental damage, the skin produces sebum (oil). While sebum (oil) is beneficial to your skin, if it stays on the skin too long without being cleansed off, or if there is excessive oil on the surface, it can mix with any residing build-up leftover on your skin. This may cause enlarged pores and create a blockage of skin follicles, trapping sebum and allowing bacteria to penetrate the skin, which leads to inflammation, acne, and a blotchy and lacklustre complexion.
NB: wash your hands first before performing a cleansing routine.
